Apartment Review
I feel like a fool paying to live here
Review Date: 7/10/2010
Reviewer: Anonymous

I have lived here twice in the past, and moved back here recently. I couldn t be more disgusted with the decision to live here. The neighborhood in itself has gone down the drain in the last ten years... I understand that I have to assume responsibility since I knew that was the case. But I have never felt so trapped in my life. You are obviously wondering what could possibly be so bad about this place. Maybe you have met Mary, thought she was nice, and think I must be mistaken. WELL, let me tell you why. 1. THERE ARE THREE REGISTERED SEXUAL OFFENDERS LIVING HERE. I was not aware of this upon moving in. I was naive and assumed that all apartments and trailer parks screened for felons and sexual offenders. I checked the website and learned that two of the three were convicted of felony sexual assault on a young girl for one guy, and indecency with a small child for the other guy. Both spent time being incarcerated. 2. You cannot read your lease. The print is unbearably small, and the printer didn t even print the words clearly to begin with. (I WONDER IF THIS IS LEGAL???) You really have no idea what you legally agreed to by signing your name. It could say anything, and if you don t have the money to take them to court oh well. 3. Speaking of going to court.... Mary (the manager for the last 8 or so years) Mary was yelling at a resident in the middle of a hallway. While he remained a calm tone she yelled at him for being a hair late on his rent. He then proceeded to apologize and remind her that his apartment has dozens of things broken, and out of order. He said that they were all things advertised and promised, such as a working dishwasher. His dishwasher was broken before he even moved in. She yelled WELL GO GET A LAWYER THEN. 4. You will have several loud, careless, trashy neighbors. I have met one nice person since I have been back here. Mary will treat you like a nuisance for daring to complain to her. She will not do anything more than put a letter on their door. And the noise will keep going on without consequence. The police are in here so much as it is they probably wouldn t appreciate me calling them for dozens of noise complaints. So I just bare it. 5. There is dog poop everywhere. LEGALLY and based on the part of the lease you actually can read it says you are supposed to immediately dispose of your animals waste. Yet I have never once seen anyone clean up after their dog Although one person that does pick it up is too lazy to walk it to the dumpster, so they just left it in the laundry room. It stunk up the whole building once the humidity got to it. Plus It s tough when you have a small child because they are too busy playing to want to watch their every step for dog poop. But the worst thing is that a couple times a month the hallway smells like dog pee. 6. Your apartment will likely have one or sometimes several plumbing leeks that could ruin all of your possessions at your expense. 7. The carpet is not only like 10-20 years old, BUT they charge you $30 to clean it upon you moving out unless you can show them a receipt from a licensed cleaner. 8. You have to give them 2 months notice before moving out at the end of your lease or... oh wait I can t read that part!!! 9.The walls are not professionally painted, and they look awful. There are patches everywhere where they only painted over the patch, leaving you with a lumpy wall with two different colors of paint. The paint is also all of the cabinets and trim throughout the whole apartment. The ceilings are the same. UGLY. 10. Appliances are extremely outdated. They give you 2 pairs of washer/ dryers to share with 12 other apartments.. One of of four is usually broken. They are old and do not clean or dry well at all. The dishwasher barely works. The stove top of my stove barely works. The fridges are crap. They brought me a piece of junk old fridge from a different apartment to replace another junk one. First one didn t freeze, this one has a broken seal around the fridge. COSTLY for me. I also had to replace my shower head as the one provided was of less use than a drinking fountain as far as trying to shower in it. All of my drains are messed up too. 11. People throw there trash and cans all over the parking lot, the stairs, the hallways, and the woods. 12. People drive like crazy and don t watch out for kids. 13. The pond looks like a swamp, and they never run the fountain or attempt to clean it up. 14. Don& t expect to get your deposit back. Check the reviews for this place for yourself, or drive here and really take a good long hard look around you. Spend the extra money and get something that feels more like home. This feels like a crappy hotel at best. I could say so much more... But do I really need to. Take my word for it and look somewhere else. This place is horrible. The only good things about this place is that the people in the back of the building have a beautiful wooded view, and the balconies are about twice the size of a normal apartment sized balcony. But... hey. It s your choice.
